He Liked It, So He Put A Ring On It!!

Saturday, January 14, 2012
Alora (my friend) asked me to go on a drive around 4:00 pm.  We were supposed to go on a double date with her and her boyfriend and Tim and I at 5:00.  Tim was “cutting trees” with his dad.  As Alora and I were driving around she asked if I wanted to go up to Sundance.  When we got up there, we parked and then walked around.  I was not prepared for winter weather at that time!  She was showing me different things around Sundance.  We went down some stairs and started up a path that went onto a bridge near a beautiful pond.  As we were walking up the path we came upon rose petals covering the ground and candles lining the edge.  I stopped right before the rose petals and thought to myself “we can’t be walking here, something is going on..” Alora pushed me from behind.  I carefully walked on the rose petals not wanting to mess up someone’s stuff.  Tim came around from the trees onto the bridge. I still didn’t understand what was going on.  I turned to see if Alora was still behind me and she was back at where the rose petals had started.  Then it hit me! Tim was proposing!  So my natural instinct was to say “No way!”, “You are not doing thing!”, “No way!” over and over again.  Tim met me in the middle of a circle of candles.  Then he said…

I have us standing here in this circle that represents our love.  It is never ending and forever! I love you more than anything! You are the most beautiful girl ever! Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of eternity with you.  Chelsea... will you marry me?

I will be marrying my best friend on June 20, 2012!
My Ring!!

I feel as if I am constantly on the go.  When life goes by so fast and overwhelms me I just shut down.  It has been so long since I have written a blog.  During the summer I wrote a blog about Orlando, but it was never posted.  I even wrote a blog about Oregon and that was never posted either.  So many events have passed that I feel I haven't had time to write about.  I never even wrote a blog about the New Year being here!  Every day Tim asks me when I’m going to post a blog.  I really need to now because…

I’m Engaged!!!

Bakin' Some Cakes

I loved more than anything to spend friday morning working hard on something I love to do. Baking.  I enjoyed so much making three driver’s license cakes for Katelyn, Anthony, and Aaron with Cheryl.  It only half way broke my heart to see them cut into and eaten.  But I learned so much from Cheryl, that I could do it again just for fun :)

As I walked to my first class after the Christmas break, I couldn’t help but smile and laugh to myself that I can’t be old enough to be really walking to college.  It hadn’t hit me until then that I really am growing up fast.  With my graduation year being 2010, the whole year meant I was still young and not supposed to be growing up.  But now with the New Year, 2011, it means my graduation year has passed and I’m really old and in college.
2010 was such a great year

But what makes it the best...
It means I get to look forward to a whole nother year! :)

An Update on the Last Two Months...

I love this time of year where I can spend so much time with my family.
Thanksgiving is the best time to get the whole family together.
It’s the time for the annual football game, playing games, looking through ads, the annual talent show, and eating turkey and pie.

Tim and I celebrated our two years together
He is so amazing, and I could not have asked for a better two years.

Christmas Eve with the family!
We got to act out the nativity scene with the cousins, eat, play games, and spend time with the family.  I couldn't ask for a better time with the fam.

Christmas day!

Santa came and we got to open presents.
Good thing it wasn’t too early :)

We had breakfast before opening presents from each other
Christmas is the best to spend time with family.

Tim’s presents were wrapped perfectly!

New Year's Eve!
Of course we had to have the food, we ate and ate and played games, and almost to midnight we gathered in the family room to count down til the New Year.

Now it’s time to plan for the New Year.  I can’t wait to see what happens.

Such a Wonderful Christmas Season

This is one of my most favorite times of the year.
I love the snow, the Christmas trees, the lights, the treats, and most of all spending time with family.
This is the time of year to really reflect how absolutely amazing He is and was here on earth.
Christ is our Savior, our Redeemer, our Healer, our Shepard, and so much more.
Having him come to earth those so many years ago is such a blessing.
Every year, at Christmas time, my testimony grows.
I love hearing and acting out the nativity scene with the cousins, and to hear the scriptures of His birth.
I love the tradition of going to the Forgotten Carols with my family.
That play is one of the best and most amazing testimony builders.

My heart hurt the morning my mom woke me up and told me the Provo Tabernacle was burning down.
I turned on the news to watch the many firefighters and trucks trying to put the fire out.
It was such a historical building it is so sad to see it gone.
All the beautiful pictures inside were burned.
And then I saw this one

It is a picture of Provo Firefighters looking at a painting of Christ that was burned in the fire.  The fire from the Tabernacle burned the entire image except the image of Christ in the center.

After seeing this picture for the first time, my testimony grew.
I know, after seeing that picture, the church is true, and I am so beyond grateful to be part of it.
And just like this picture, someday, Christ will come to this earth again.

I Love My Life and the People in It

I am so grateful for the people I have in my life.
My life has been so blessed to have such incredible people in it.
There have been so many people in my life that have taught me so much, and have inspired me.
Two people in my life that have taught me and inspired me so much are

Grandma and Grandpa Down

Grandma,
You are one of the most amazing people in my life.
Without you, our family wouldn’t have the gospel in our lives.
Thank you so much for that!
Thank you for raising such a wonderful daughter,
Who has grown to be the amazing mother that you are to your own children.
I love all the memories I have with you, and we have more to make.
I will cherish every moment.
Someday, I hope to be a great mother like you were and are to your children,
And I also hope to be a great grandmother like you are now to all of your grandchildren.
Grandma I love you so much!
Thank you for everything you do in my life.

Grandpa,
I love you so much!
You are such an amazing person.
I will forever remember all the memories we have had so far in life.
Growing up with such a wonderful grandpa is all I could ask for.
I could never ask for a better one.
I will never forget you taking me camping and fishing.
I will never forget standing on the deck with you at your old house.
I will never forget riding in the green truck with you, and much much more.
Thank you so much for all the truly amazing things you have done for me.
I look so forward every summer to coming and spending time with you and grandma.
It is the best time of the year!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the most amazing grandparents anyone could ask for!
